This year one of the block buster movies was Pixar’s Toy Story 3. The long awaiting third movie in the franchise was an instant hit at the box office grossing more than almost all other films and beat only by Alice in Wonderland.

This Halloween most kids will be dressed up as either Woody, Buzz or Jessie but if you want to be unique dress as up one of the 6 toys below as all three of them have costumes available for purchase.

Rex – The fearsome dinosaur who thinks he is not just that scary enough. The costume includes a green shirt, gloves, the telltale dinosaur tail, and a headpiece. It comes in children and adult sizes.

Mr. Potato Head – The sarcastic, potato-shaped toy whose parts are constantly broken away from his main body by some weird twist of fate. A licensed costume is also available for Mrs. Potato Head which is perfect for a couple costume or a costume for a brother and sister.

Hamm – The Piggy Bank known for his witticisms. Hamm’s costume is available for little girls and includes a pink piggy bank overall dress packed with foam on the inside and a long-sleeved black shirt. This is a really cute costume that is instantly recognizable by others.

The Little Green Men – Three, three-eyed aliens in blue jumpsuits. You can ask two of your friends to go with you or find a big group of people to dress up, add some toy guns and you’ll be the talk of the neighborhood.

Bo Peep – Girls can dress up as this little sheep herder who is by far the cutest toy in the toy box with her little pink and blue dress, bonnet, hat and staff.

Alien – Last but not least is the cute alien. These costumes are great and really attract attention with the green 3 eyed heads. Remember to follow the Claw… it is your Leader!

So don’t go with the same old Buzz, Woody and Jessie costume, stand out, be different and choose Rex, Mr and Mrs Potato Head, Little Green Men, Bo Peep or Alien costumes instead!

Great clog, great price

These are “Birki” Birkenstocks. Birki belongs to the Birkenstock family (I checked the German Birkenstock website to be absolutely sure and it is listed as a Birkenstock brand under the “License Holders” tab). Birki is a sub-brand which really isn’t much different from the traditional Birkenstocks other than that Birki does not use leather (at least I have never seen leather Birkis). Instead they use felt and other materials for their shoes.

Rest assured that you do get the benefits of a Birkenstock cork footbed with this clog. These are NOT knock-offs! The fit is authentic Birkenstock in every way. I have owned these exact clogs for many years and I also own several pairs of traditional leather Birkenstock clogs – both feel identical. The only difference might be that the felt is not as rigid as the leather version, making it sometimes even more comfortable. Of course the leather is a bit more versatile because you don’t necessarily want to wear the felt clogs in rainy weather.

I can highly recommend this shoe, especially if you are interested in Birkenstocks but don’t like to pay the high price for the leather models. They are also great to wear around the house, and at this price they are simply a really, really good deal.

Everywhere my daughter goes in these shoes people stop to remark about them. They are truly a conversation starter, and my daughter says they make her smile when she looks down. The fit is that of a classic Birkenstock, and the high arch may take some getting used to if your child is unaccustomed to having good support from a shoe. A terrific buy all around. My son wants a pair of his own now!

Not legitimately Birkenstocks

These are being sold as being Birkenstocks and are not. They are Birki’s which are a knock-off featuring the appearance of a Birkenstock cork footbed. The price was too good to be true and so I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised at the cheaply constructed shoes that just appeared at my doorstep.
