Scott Hawaii started in 1932 after founders Elmer and Jean Scott moved from Massachusetts to Hawaii. Coming from a lineage of shoe makers, the pair quickly conventional a reputation within their new community as makers of quality footwear. At basi they specialized in plantation boots for the sugarcane and pineapple field workers. But, with the introduction of World War II, materials came in short supply and businesses servicing the United States military were given priority. To meet these new conditions, Scott Hawaii changed direction and begun focusing on casual footwear, which they sold to the military exchanges. The “slippah” was born. Scott Hawaii was born of the principles, commitment and vision it takes to drive a couple closely 6000 miles away (during a time of trains and steamships!) to an unfamiliar land to commence a business. Now in it is third generation, these principles are still in place today. Although the styling has come a long way, the quality and attention to detail are still the same.

GREAT SCOTTS! By Sharon Emery I have been wearing Scott Sandals since the mid 80s when I purchased them in Hawaii. They last forever! And, what I particularly like is the nice solid arch support they afford. These are not your typical flat as a board chunk of rubber flip flops. Even the straps are heavy and durable and can withstand the gnawing’s of a pitbull puppy, BAD DOG! I have never had to throw out a worn pair, rather they get misplaced from summer to summer. I noticed these latest ones are made in China, but the same great quality seems to be there. And the price is lower on Amazon than me having my sister-in-law grab me a pair on Oahu. Not to mention they get here a week faster!

best flip flops around By Adiema F. Ebanks We lived in Hawaii for a few years and thats all we where wearing; Scotts Makaha flip flops. They are the best shaped, and most comfortables flip flops. Most flip flops are very soft and flat and they hurt my back, but with Scott Makaha, I can walk all day in them, and they last for years. They are worth ever penny.
